Digipak advertisements analysis.

I have started to look into digipak advertisements in order to start getting ideas for how I will want my advertisement to look. I decided to look into the artists Lana Del Rey, Delilah and Ellie Goulding as they are all from the Indie/ Pop genre (the same as mine) so they will be the best to look at to see how they have advertised their music.

For Lana Del Rey's digipak advertisement she has kept the same image that is on the actual album itself. I like this idea because it keeps a consistent look through out her work and allows people to more easily identify it is her music. Although I do think it is important to keep an audience interested with every piece of work an artist produces so it might be better to change the image so the audience are receiving something new. Showing she is a very important part of her music Lana Del Rey has made sure she is the main image and centre of attention for her advertisement. She has done this also by having her name printed in bold capitals at the top of the poster. This emphasises her Indie Pop genre as female artists from this genre are mostly always the centre of attention and the main selling point of their music due to their looks and style.
The album title itself is printed smaller then her name along with when the album is coming out and other important information which I don't think is good because the poster is meant to be advertising these things and they have been pushed to the bottom of then page in small print which people will not be able to easily see. I think the album title and release dates of the album should be one of the main things shown on the poster as thats the whole point of the advertisement.

Ellie Goulding like Lana Del Rey has kept the same image from her album cover for her album advertisement keeping a consistent look also so her fans can easily recognise her music. Again she is the main centre of attention due to her being the biggest and only image shown on the poster with her name printed in big bold letters. She has kept the same font from her album as well which again makes her easily recognisable. On this advertisement there are reviews from magazines and other industries where they have made a small comment and rated it using stars. This sells the album even more as good comments have been made about it from big companies so people will believe more that is it good and want to buy it even more. I like this idea as it helps sell the album and helps emphasise certain aspects about it by the companies writing certain things.
